Ozone is a molecule formed by three atoms of oxygen. At the higher levels of the atmosphere, it shields the surface of the earth from ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. It may affect any ecosystem in the following ways: (i) At the surface of the earth, it is a deadly poison for all lower forms of life.

Ozone is a layer of O3.
O3 i.e Ozone absorb the ultraviolet radiation (UV rays) because UV rays have very low wavelength due to which they get scattered as a result can't rearch us.
Harmful effects of UV rays -
1. They cause skin cancer.
2. UV rays damage Cell of various organisms.
