Ozone depletion is the breakdown of ozone layer, by the effect of CFC's on it.
Actually what happens their, the synthetic chemical which is the CFC thier acts as a killer of it, which results for its breakdown.
Formation of ozone layer involves,
O2 ---UV ----> O + O
O + O2 -----> O3
So, if their is any difficulty in occurring this, then the result will only be its depletion.
