The destruction of ozone layer is caused by one factor only which is Cholorofluorocarbons. The main cause of the ozone hole was found to be gases that contained Cholorofluorocarbons (CFCs), Halons and Freons.

Depletion of the ozone layer has consequences on humans, animals and plants. This typically results from higher UV levels reaching us on earth. Research confirms that high levels of UV Rays cause non-melanoma skin cancer.

the ozone is an allotrope of oxygen. it is triatomic (O3). the part of atmosphere which is rich in ozone is called ozone layer, ozonosphere, ozone umbrella or ozone shield.
in 1985, Farman, found that ozone layer has thinned out over Antarctica. it is called ozone hall .
it is caused by ozone depleting substances (ODS) like chlorofluorocarbons, halons, methyl bromide, nitrogen oxides, and chlorine, chlorofluorocarbons such as carbon tetrachloride, dichlorodifluoromethane, etc.
harmful effects
skin cancer
damage of eyes.
damage of immune system.
decreased crop yields.
smog formation.
