Ozone is the O3. it is very poisonous gas unlike oxygen(O2).

It is formed by the UV rays of the sun which splits it. then the O2 atom join with some of the splitted O atoms and form O3.

It is in the top of the atmosphere saving us from the UV rays of the sun
