We know that ozone is o3. Ozone molecules is made together up of 3 atoms of oxygen gas. Ozone is also a gas but it is poisonous in nature.

Ozone is formed high up in the atmosphere by the action of ultraviolet radiation on oxygen gas. This happens follows :-

O2 ------------ O + O

The free atoms thus produced very reative

O2 + O ----------- O3
