ozone o3 is a pale blue gas ,mostly present in the stratosphere which is extended upto 50km above the surface of the earth.

Ozone absorbs a large portion of sun's ultraviolet radiation and thus protects the living organisms on earth from the harmful effects of UV radiations of the sun .

when the sunlight dissociat oxygen molecules into free oxygen atom which are highly reactive,

then the same oxygen atom suddenly react with oxygen molecules to form ozone.

it is a highly toxic layer present above atmosphere.

it is beneficial to us because of following ways:-

i) it protect ultra violet rays which come from sun directly to the earth. it protect us from harmful UV rays.

ii) it protect us from many skin disease which caused by uv rays.
