Ozone Layer is like a covering around the earth that absorbs most of the sun's ultraviolet radiation.  The ozone layer is mainly found in the lower portion of the stratosphere, from approximately 20 to 30 kilometers above Earth, although its thickness varies seasonally and geographically.

hey mate here is your answer....

an atmospheric layer at heights of about 20 to 30 miles (32 to 48 kilometers) that is normally characterized by high ozone content which blocks most solar ultraviolet radiation from entry into the lower atmosphere.

The ozone layer acts as a filter for the shorter wavelength and highly hazardous ultraviolet radiation (UVR) from the sun, protecting life on Earth from its potentially harmful effects. When the sky is clear, there is an inverse relationship between stratospheric ozone and solar UVR measured at the Earth's surface.
