  • Intigrated nutrient management .
  • Intigrated pest management.
  • Integrated disease management etc…. to the farmers.

Main aim of this technology is maximum yield and maximum benefits to farmer in less period of time .

2) Answer:

   1.The What?

Minimum Support Price is a form of market intervention by the Government of India to insure agricultural producers against any sharp fall in farm prices. The minimum support prices are announced by the Government of India at the beginning of the sowing season for certain crops on the basis of the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices. MSP is price fixed by Government of India to protect the producer farmers against excessive fall in price during bumper production years. The minimum support prices are a guarantee price for their produce from the Government that this will be the minimum price at which their product will fetch.If the market price is above,MSP,the farmer can obviously sell it at the market prices.In case the market price for the commodity falls below the announced minimum price due to bumper production and glut in the market, government agencies purchase the entire quantity offered by the farmers at the announced minimum price.

2.The Why?

The major objectives are to support the farmers from distress sales and to procure food grains for public distribution.

3.The How?

In formulating the recommendations in respect of the level of minimum support prices and other non-price measures, the Commission takes into account, apart from a comprehensive view of the entire structure of the economy of a particular commodity or group of commodities, the following factors:-

  • Cost of production
  • Changes in input prices
  • Input-output price parity
  • Trends in market prices
  • Demand and supply
  • Inter-crop price parity
  • Effect on industrial cost structure
  • Effect on cost of living
  • Effect on general price level
  • International price situation
  • Parity between prices paid and prices received by the farmers.
  • Effect on issue prices and implications for subsidy

The Commission makes use of both micro-level data and aggregates at the level of district, state and the country. The information/data used by the Commission, inter-alia include the following :-

  • Cost of cultivation per hectare and structure of costs in various regions of the country and changes there in;
  • Cost of production per quintal in various regions of the country and changes therein;
  • Prices of various inputs and changes therein;
  • Market prices of products and changes therein;
  • Prices of commodities sold by the farmers and of those purchased by them and changes therein;
  • Supply related information - area, yield and production, imports, exports and domestic availability and stocks with the Government/public agencies or industry;
  • Demand related information - total and per capita consumption, trends and capacity of the processing industry;

As of 2015-16,Minimum support prices are currently announced for 25 commodities. They are as follows.

  • Cereals (7)
  • Pulses (5)
  • Oilseeds (8)
  • Copra
  • Raw cotton
  • Raw jute
  • Sugarcane
  • Virginia flu cured tobacco

According to this article on If Not The Farmers, Who Is Benefiting From The Increase In Food Prices In India?,the lack of benefits of food price inflation by the grass root can be attributed to the following reasons

1.The menace of middle men:

A farmer’s produce reaches the open market through middlemen known  who buy the harvest at a fixed price. This way the benefits of price changes are actually shared by the middle agents instead of the farmers. Hence, at times of drought and famines, farmers earn substantially less despite the increase in food prices.

Then what about the time the government procures food grains from farmers at procurement prices through mandi's?

Well,according to Devinder Sharma,

whatever grain that comes into the mandis is first made available to the private trade to buy. It’s only when there are no buyers left that the FCI steps in to purchase it at the support price announced by the government, which in reality becomes an assured price for farmers.

2.The inflation in price of farm inputs.

Another reason as to why food inflation does not have the desired effect on farmers was reported by the National Council of Applied Economic Research when it pointed out that the inflation in the food industry not only impacts prices of farm products but also farm inputs. Thus, the marginal increase in income of the farmer due to the substantial increase in food price is countered by the increase in prices of the inputs to produce the food products.

Yes.Though in different formats.Green Box subsidies under the WTO like the Research and training services provided to farmers by in countries like USA  is an example.

hope this helps you.
