There are two types of circuits, series and parallel. In series connection, the current flows only through one path will be the same when passing through each resistor. In parallel connection, the voltage remains the same across each resistors in the circuit and the current is divided among each branches.

Series circuit

→ The current in each resistor have the same value.

→ The total voltage drop is equal to the supply voltage.

→ The effective resistance is always more than the minimum value resistance in the series circuit.

→ The voltage across each resistor is equal to the supply voltage.

→ The total current in the circuit is equal to the sum of the current in individual parallel circuit.

→ The effective resistance is always less than the minimum value resistance in the parallel circuit.
