Parasitic Nutrition:
The plants absorb nutrients from another growing plant. They are called parasites. The plant from which it derives nutrition is called a host.
Usually parasitic plants develop special roots, which penetrate into the tissues of the host plant to take nutrients. Example Cuscuta (dodder), mistletoe.
In a parasitic relation, only the parasite benefits. It harms the host plant by slowing down its growth and sometimes causing heavy damage.
