Parenchyma tissue is a simple permanent tissue (non-dividing tissue). It stores food for the plant and supports the plant. Some of its features are it has living cells, large intercellular space and thin cell walls. It can be divided into two: aerenchyma (gives buoyancy to aquatic plants) and chlorenchyma (helps in the process of photosynthesis.
