parliament consists of a group of people who are responsible for making laws in some kind of government.
FUNCTIONS:
it makes laws that are applicable to the whole country. the subjects on which it can make laws are specified in the constitution.
it exercises control over the income and expenditure of the central government.
the parliament has vast powers. it can even impeach the president. but there is a strict procedure prescribed in the constitution for such proceedings.
provision of the constitution can be amended by the parliament.
it has the power to declare war against a foreign country and also enter into treaties with other countries of the world.
most important function of the parliament is to pass the annual budget.
