What is parmanent tissue and merismatic tissue.

permanent tissue are those tissue that not have ability to divide. there are two different types of tissue : simple permanent tissue and complex permanent tissue.



merismatic tissue:the growth of plant occurs in certain specific region. this dividing tissue is known as merismatic tissue.

b)Complex permanent tissue-
•Xylem -
i)Tracheids
ii) vessels

•Phloem-
i)sieve elements
ii) companion cells
iii) phloem parenchyma
iv) phloem fibres

2.Meristematic tissue - Undergoes active cell division , division occurs at root tip and shoot tip reason (apical meristem). Also classified into 2groups -
a) Primary meristem tissue
•apical meristem
•intercalary meristem
b) Secondary or Lateral meristem tissue
