  • parthenogenetic offspring usually have the diploid chromosome number.
  • Examples : honey bees and birds.
  • Parthenogenesis is the type of asexual reproduction.
  • A few plants also capable of reproducing in this manner.
  • Some chemicals that are responsible for for the parthenogenesis of eggs are: Acids, chloroform, urea, sucrose etc.
