The process of heating milk at high temperature (400-500 degrees) and suddenly cooling it to kill the germs and harmful microbes is called pasteurization.

This method is very useful as it kills the bacteria and make the food safe to eat or drink.

Pasteurization is the process of heat processing a liquid or a food to kill pathogenic bacteria to make the food safe to eat. The use of pasteurization to kill pathogenic bacteria has helped reduce the transmission of diseases, such as typhoid fever, tuberculosis, scarlet fever, polio, and dysentery.

Pasteurization or pasteurisation is a process that kills microbes (mainly bacteria) in food and drink, such as milk, juice, canned food, and others. It was invented by French scientist Louis Pasteur during the nineteenth century.
