The process that kills microbes in food and drinks such as milk, juices etc. is known as Pasteurisation.

 

This technique was invented by Louis Pasteur, the French scientist, in 1864.


The bacteria in milk are killed by heating it to 71.7 degree centigrade. It ensures the milk is safe to drink and can be stored for a longer time.
