Answer: A pencil is a instrument from which we can write and also erase it with its companion eraser and therefore is given to smaller kids so that their mistake will be forgiven. On the other side a pen is also a instrument for writing but may not be erased and therefore given to elder children. Its true that we can erase through the ink eraser but its almost expensive to buy.
