The rivers which flow or hold water throughout the year are called perennial rivers. eg-Indus, Ganga, Brahmaputra etc. Non perennial rivers are those which depend on rainfall and its flow is restricted for few months only.

Perennial rivers are those rivers which exhibit a continuous flow of water throughout the year except during extreme drought. ... Non-perennial rivers are those rivers which have no flow for at least a part of the year.
