What is Perimeter?

The length of the boundary of a closed figure is called the perimeter.

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2 × (Length + Breadth)
  • Perimeter of a square = 4 × Side

What is Area?

The measure of the surface enclosed by a closed figure is called area.

  • Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth
  • Area of a square = Side × Side

Perimeter :

The scale or measurement of the continuous line running around a closed figure which acts as it's boundary.

Perimeter of square : 4* side

Perimeter of Triangle : sum of all sides

Perimeter of rectangle : 2(l+b)

Area :

The total surface occupied by a given closed figure.

Area of square : side * side

Area of Triangle : 1/2 * base *height

Area of rectangle : l*b
