Answer:

Perimeter is the distance around a two dimensional shape.

Eg. The perimeter of a square with side of 2 cm is  2 × 4 = 8 cm

We multiplied it 4 times as a square is made up of 4 line segments.

In other words a perimeter is the sum of all the sides of a figure.

Rectangle with length = 6 cm; breadth = 5 cm

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (l + b)

= 2 (5 + 6) cm

= 2 × 11 cm

= 22 cm

Hope it helps
