Answer:

Geostationary orbit, a circular orbit 35,785 km (22,236 miles) above Earth's Equator in which a satellite's orbital period is equal to Earth's rotation period of 23 hours and 56 minutes. A spacecraft in this orbit appears to an observer

1 A geo-stationary satellite is a geo-synchronous satellite that is placed in equatorial orbit.

2 Time required for 1 revolution = approximately 24 hours (exactly 23.9344 hours or 1436. 064 minutes), which equates to almost one sidereal day .

3 Relative angular velocity between earth and a geo-stationary satellite is zero, i.e., Angular velocity of the satellite is synced with that of Earth's angular velocity. Hence, geo-stationary satellite appears to be fixed in the sky.

4 Velocity = 3.07 Km/sec

4 Each satellite can cover 40% of the earth's surface.
