what is periodicity in properties of elements with reference to the modern periodic table? why do all the elements of the same group have similar properties? how does the tendency of elements to gain electrons change as we move from left to right in a period? State the reason of this change​

Answer:

i) Periodicity is refers to as the repetion of elements with similar property after regular interval of time.

ii) Elements of same group have similar properties because they have equal number of electrons in their outermost orbit.

iii) In periods the valency of elements is always increases because as we move from left to right the valency starts becoming +1,+2,+3,-4,-3,-2,-1,0 . This shows that valency is increases in periods as we move from left .
