Peiosteum is a dense layer of vascular connective tissue enveloping the bones except at the surfaces of the joints.

⏩ It is the outermost layer of Mammalian bone.

⏩ It consist outer tough and thick layer of white collagen fibres/sharpy's fibres.

⏩ Collagen fibres are tough and strong forming outer margin of bone.

⏩outer thick layer of collagen fibres followed by two layers of osteoblasts. osteoblasts are dividing cell and responsible for growth of bone towards periphery.
