The image formed at retina of I does not fade away instantaneously its impression remains on the retina for about 1/16 of second even after the removal of the object this continuence of the sensation of vision is called persistence of vision it is because of the persistence of vision that when is still image of a moving object are placed on the eye at a rate faster than 16 time per second our I see that object as moving

Persistence of vision is the eye's ability to keep seeing an image of an object for a 1/16th of a second even object is disappeared.

It is generally a time period fr object to be on retina.
