Personification means assigning human like qualities to lifeless objects like the mirror in this poem "the mirror ".

The mirror is made of silvery glass and iron frame. The mirror lives on forever.

The mirror is like a four cornered eye of the God. It always reflects a true image of things and persons standing in front of it. The mirror doesn't lie about the age or beauty of the persons.

The mirror is like a deep lake containing pure and clear water. The mirror watches over the people , understands their feelings and desires, but is always showing correct image without enhancing the beauty of the persons.

The mirror pities the old woman for her disappointment and sadness over wrinkled face like a terrible fish. Thus the mirror is shown to have feelings too.
