The pH of the soil is the measurement of the alkalinity or the relative acidity of the soil.

The pH of soil affects the different aspects of the production of the crop.

It is advisable to opt for a soil solution which has a slightly acidic range ranging between 6.0 and 7.0 for the grain crops and a soil solution whose pH ranges between 6.8 and 7.0 for the legumes because they are more sensitive to the toxicity of aluminium in the soils which are acidic.
