If the pH of the soil is too low (decreasing pH) that means soil contain more acid (acidic) and acidic soil results in the removal of the important nutrients or in decreased microbial activity. If the ph of the soil is too high that means soil contain more bases (alkaine) and basic soil do not promote cultivation.
