Phase is the physical quantity which gives us information about position and direction of a particle about its mean position.
● Between x, v & a -
Consider a particle moving in SHM started from mean position.
# Displacement-
x = Asin(ωt)
# Velocity-
v = dx/dt
v = Aωcos(ωt)
v = Aωsin(ωt+π/2)
# Acceleration-
a = dv/dt
a = -Aω^2sin(ωt)
a = Aω^2sin(ωt+π)
# Phase difference-
1. Phase difference between displacement and velocity is π/2.
2. Phase difference between velocity and acceleration is π/2.
3. Phase difference between displacement and acceleration is π.
