The waxing gibbous phase occurs between the first quarter and full moon phases. A full moon is when we can see the entire lit portion of the Moon. “phases of moon” term is represents the visibility of moon . Moon is spherical in shape and we see the the full moon once in month and there is also no moon once in month , i.e moon is not visible to us. From full moon night to no moon night , in between this moon changes its shape and its start disappearing day by day and then there is once in month when there is no visibilty of moon in the sky.
