what is photolysis? how it is useful in photosynthesis?

Photolysis is the decomposition of molecules by the action of light. The part of photosynthesis occur in granum of a chloroplast where light is absorbed by chlorophyll. This reacts with water and splits the oxygen and hydrogen molecules apart.
