Photosynthesis is the process by which autotrophic green plants convert various components such as Carbon Dioxide ($CO_{2}$) from the air, Water ($H_{2}O$) and minerals absorbed by the roots from the soil and sunlight absorbed by a green pigment called chlorophyll in food, aka glucose ($C_{6}H_{12}O_{6}$) Photosynthesis only takes place during day because of the presence of sunlight.
