Photosynthesis, the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds

photosynthesis is the process by which the plants which possess chlorophyll and hence are green, make their own food with the help of sunlight, carbon dioxide, water and chlorophyll (the green coloured pigment). plants use carbon dioxide for making food, that's why they lessen the amount of carbon dioxide in the air and thus making it comfortable to breathe with a lot of oxygen.
