it is the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy to produce their own food .the plants should have some kind of photoreceptors like chlorophyll,

xanthophyll...is called photosynthesis .plants use co2 and water for this process and evolves molecular oxygen and glucose as byproducts
