The importance of photosynthesis are:

  • It is useful for the development of plants
  • it is the primary source of food in an ecosystem
  • it release oxygen which is essential for all organisms
  • it utilised carbon dioxide.

Additional information

photosynthesis ( photos=light, synthesis=putting together)

it is an anabolic reaction

study of photosynthesis originated about 300 years ago.

It occurs in a leaf in mesophyll cells which contains chloroplast

Photosynthesis consist of two stages which are,

i) light stage

ii) dark stage respectively.
