Step-by-step explanation:

Photosynthesis, the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.

Photosynthesis can be defined as the process by which plant make their food. This process is practised by plants but exactly leaves of the plants practice this process. Leaves of the plants contain small pigments called chlorophyll which perform this. They take carbon dioxide present in atmosphere and perform photosynthesis and then release oxygen. This process always takes place in presence of sunlight.
