Photosynthesis is the process in which green plants use sunlight to make their own food. During photosynthesis, chlorophyll containing cells of leaves in the presence of sunlight, use carbon dioxide and water to synthesise carbohydrates (sugar/glucose) and oxygen.

EQUATION : Carbon dioxide + Water +  \frac{Sunlight}{Chlorophyll} → Carbohydrates + Oxygen
