What is Photosynthesis??
Answers
Explanation:
Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy into chemical energy that, through cellular respiration, can later be released to fuel the organism's activities.
Answer:
† Photosynthesis :
The conversion of solar/light energy into chemical energy by green plants, called photosynthesis.
What actually happens during photosynthesis:
Absorption of light energy by chlorophyll. Conversion of light energy to chemical energy and splitting of water molecules
into hydrogen and oxygen.
• Reduction of carbon dioxide to carbohydrate.
★ Reaction takes place during photosynthesis:
. Mechanism of photosynthesis :
Photosynthesis is a process which completed in two steps :
- Light reaction.
- • Dark reaction.
: Light reaction:-
This step is directly depends upon presence of sunlight including photolysis of water. Due to photolysis of water releasing electrons carry toward another electron acceptor and form ATP and and NADPH (nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Hydrogenase ).
Dark Reaction:-
This Step perform in in absence of light but it does not mean that it is not depend on light. This step form a glucose molecule by fixing CO₂ in the presence of RUBP (Ribolose Biphosphate). This step require energy which is formed in light reaction.
Sight of photosynthesis:
Below the epidermis of leaf chloroplast are present which contain a green pigmented molecule called chlorophyll.
• Factor affecting rate of photosynthesis:
Light :
- a narrow range of light is active for photosynthesis called PAR ( photosynthetically active radiation) is blue and red regions Photosynthesis at its maximum rate.
Temperature:
All the living reaction. require enzymes and enzyme are sensitive to temperature. Photosynthesis perform maximum between 25 to 40° Celsius. At low temperature engine become inactive and at. high temperature protenaceus part of enzymes denature and photosynthesis completely stop.
