The process of making food by Green plants (autotroph) is called photosynthesis. For performing photosynthesis water, sunlight and carbon dioxide are used by the plants.

Leaves also contains chlorophyll in them which traps sunlight and helps in making food. Roots of plants absorbs water and Minerals from the soil and transfers them leaves through stem.
