What is photosynthesis ? Describe the process of photosynthesis ?
Answers
Answer:
Photosynthesis is the process in which plant cells produce their own food. In this process carbon dioxide is taken in and oxygen is given out. The oxygen which is given out by plants make up the fresh air around trees and plants. Photosynthesis is achieved with a cell organelle in plant called chloroplasts which contain a green coloured pigment called chlorophyll which gives the green color to plant leaves. This chloroplast contains numerous disc like structures called thylakoids where the chlorophyll is stored. The chlorophyll in the thylakoids harvest the energy from the sunlight and make food with the nutrients obtained from the soil. This is the process of photosynthesis.
