Answer:

PHOTOSYNTHESIS:

It is a process followed by Autotrophs (i.e. green plants and algae) to create/manufacture food and nutrients (glucose and starch) from water and carbon dioxide in presence of sunlight and chlorophyll.

Equation of photosynthesis:

\boxed{\rm 6CO_{2}+12H_{2}0\overset{Light}{\underset{Chlorophyll}{\longrightarrow}} C_{6}H_{12}O_{6}+6H_{2}O+6O_{2}}

Please note that : Only green plants and blue-green algae can perform photosynthesis and produce nutrients. That's why they are called AUTOTROPHS.

But we and other animals are called HETEROTROPHS because we depend on them for food.
