Answer:
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria, use the energy from sunlight to produce sugar, which cellular respiration converts into ATP, the "fuel" used by all living things. The conversion of unusable sunlight energy into usable chemical energy, is associated with the actions of the green pigment chlorophyll. Most of the time, the photosynthetic process uses water and releases the oxygen that we absolutely must have to stay alive.
✯ A process carried out by plants and few organisms that makes use of carbon dioxide, sunlight, and water to prepare food is called photosynthesis.
Or
✯ Photosynthesis is the process of capturing light energy and transforming it into chemical energy.
★ The process of photosynthesis is carried out by autotrophs which prepare their own food and do not feed on another microorganism.
REMEMBER POINTS
⑴ The process of photosynthesis involves the conversion of light energy into chemical energy that can be later used as a fuel to carry out organisms activities.
⑵ The product of photosynthesis is a six-carbon glucose sugar which is used to provide two important resources to organisms such as energy and fixation of carbon.
⑶ The process of photosynthesis takes place in a special cell organelle called the chloroplast.
