A Phrase is a group of words that helps in forming a sentence but doesn't make complete sense by themselves.A phrase does not have a Subject or a Predicate.
Ex:
- A bouquet of lilies was presented to the chief Guest.
- A scarf made of silk was bought by the tourist from the village market.
Phrases can be of the following three types:-
Adjective
- A Phrase that works like an adjective in a sentence.
- Ex: Made of glass,of honour,etc.
Adverb
- A Phrase that works like an adverb in a sentence.
- Ex: every day,in a kind way,etc.
Noun
- A Phrase that works like a Noun in a sentence.
- Ex: reading Books, singing songs,etc.
