If forced to translate then I think the best translation that I have come across so far is :
A day can be of two types , tomorrow and yesterday.
The reason why we cant have a literal or figurative translation is the language barrier. In Hindi and Urdu we have the same word to denote two completely different days but that is not at all the case in English language.
