Phrases are sayings which express in few words some well know Truth or moral lessons.
Example;
An old Head on young shoulders means wisdom in a young person.
To be call ears means to listen very attentively.
An eye for an eye means punishment as severe as an injury.
To burn one's fingures means to suffer because of indiscret behaviour.
To put one's best towards means to get an one's work.
An old hand means an experienced hand.
To be Head and shoulder above somebody means to be consideraly superior in intelligence or ability.
To pay through the nose means to pay an excessive price.

A phrase is a group of words which doesn't make a complete sense. A phrase doesn't contain a subject and verb.
Examples---(a) a beautiful flower.
(b) a wise man.
(c) the green shirt.
