A physical quantity is any phenomenon that can be measured with an instrument or be calculated for. A physical quantity can be expressed as a value, which is the algebraic multiplication of a numerical value and a unit.

First of all we what is Quantity ?

Quantity :- Quantity means size , amount , vastness , magnitude ir simply stated as the answer for how much or how many

Physical Quantity :-

A Quantity which can be measured is called physical quantity

Example :- Length, Area , Volume , speed , force , Energy etc

There are three types of physical quantities they are :-

  • Fundamental physical quantity
  • Supplementary physical quantity
  • Derived physical quantity

Fundamental physical Quantity:-

If no quantity is derived from the remaining physical quantities ,then the set is called Fundamental physical Quantities

Supplementary physical Quantity:-

In S.I there are two types of Supplementary physical quantities

  • Plane angle
  • Solid angle

Derived physical quantities:-

Physical quantities derived from Fundamental or Supplementary physical quantities are called derived physical quantities
