Physical Quantity-

Any quantity that can we measured and in terms of which laws of physics can be applied is called physical quantity.

Example ;

Speed , force, mass, velocity etc.

On the basis of direction physical quantity can be divided into two parts

1.Scalar Quantity-

The physical quantity which can be completely defined by the help of magnitude alone is called a scalar quantity.

==> In scalar we follow simple algebraic addition.

==> Scalar quantity does not require direction.

Example ;

Speed ,time ,distance , mass electric current , pressure etc.

2. Vector Quantity

The physical quantity which requires both magnitude and direction for completely defining them is called vector Quantity.

==> It follow parallelogram law of vector addition.

Example ;

Force ,displacement ,velocity,acceleration etc.
