Hey! Pi is basically a mathematical constant. It is originally defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. As you know irrational numbers are numbers that are basically non terminating which means they can never end. Similarly, the value of pi although considered to be 22/7 or 3.14, if you look at it it's never ending. The value of pi has more than a 100 numbers after the decimal point. The value of pie till the 30th digit after the decimal point is 3.14159 26535 89793 23846 26433 83279

That is the reason pi is an irrational number.
