➡️Public Interest Litigation ( PIL ) is directly filed by an individual or group of people in the (Supreme Court of India) and High Courts of India and judicial member.

➡️In normal cases, it is seen that the aggrieved party i.e. the victim, who is affected has to file his case in a court of law. That person should have an interest in the dispute. But in filing of Public Interest Litigation there is no such condition. Any person can file a Public Interest Litigation.

In a democracy , all political institutions are formed for the welfare of the people. But sometimes , the actions of the government or a law passed by the government might hurt the public interest or might be against the spirit of the constitution . In such cases , citizens have the right to go to courts to get justice . This is called PIL . Anyone can lodge a case of public interest . It may be citizen, organisation, NGO etc .
