A pixel is a small square on your screen. These pixels, when formed together, create what you are seeing on your monitor right now. The resolution is the quality of a screen. For example, a 4K screen has a very good quality and brightness compared to a screen with 740 x 680.  The first number is the horizontal area of a monitor, and the next number is the vertical area.
