what is plaacenta explain its struture and funtion

Placenta is a disc formed between uterine wall and embryo during gestation period...

It forms villi towards embryo which provides large surface area for exchange of materials like glucose, O2 and other nutrients between mother's blood and embryo...

The waste products generated by embryo gets transferred to mother's blood with the help of placenta....
